Round Table
“Crimes of the Russian Federation During the Aggression Against Ukraine and Accountability for Them”
We invite you to join an international round table dedicated to current issues of international law, accountability for international crimes, and legal mechanisms for bringing to justice those responsible for crimes committed by the Russian Federation during its aggression against Ukraine.
The discussion will focus on:
- international legal mechanisms for accountability for gross human rights violations;
- prospects for the establishment of the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine;
- political challenges to ensuring accountability for international crimes;
- accountability for damage caused to the marine environment and underwater cultural heritage;
- the impact of Russia’s aggression on the contemporary international legal order.
The event will bring together leading scholars and experts from Ukraine, Germany, and Portugal, including prof. Patrícia Jerónimo, prof. Myroslava Antonovych, prof. Stefan Weber, dr Marta Barandiy, , dr Natalia Subbotina, and Maksym Vishchyk. The programme also includes discussions on the practical aspects of national and international mechanisms for prosecuting international crimes.
